Age: Approximately 2 years old

Rescue Status: In rescue since May 2023

Health: Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative

Weight: Around 46 lbs

Dopey was abandoned on a farm with her mother and six littermates while still nursing. Despite her challenging start, she’s grown into a resilient and confident pup ready for a loving home!

Dopey plays daily with dogs of all sizes—from Beagles to Great Danes—and shares toys, food, and space politely. While she thrives in lively groups of 5+ dogs, she’s independent and knows when to retreat to her own cozy spot. She is a natural leader among her siblings! She assed initial introductions with cats, but would benefit from gradual exposure or a calm feline friend.

Dopey takes time to warm up to new people and places, but adapts well once comfortable. She prefers quieter environments (loud noises startle her). She rides calmly in cars, does well at the vet, and tolerates baths and nail trims with grace.

Dopey is looking for a patient, nurturing family who appreciates her mix of confidence and sensitivity. She’d flourish in a home with playful dog pals or as an only pet with continued socialization. A calm household without frequent loud noises would help her thrive.
