Rescue Status: In rescue since October 2025

Health: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm-negative, and microchipped

Weight: Around 15 pounds

Benny was removed from a hoarding situation, and despite everything he’s been through, this little guy’s heart is still so ready to love. When he first arrived, he was nervous, unsure, and learning how to navigate a world he could no longer see. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, Benny has begun to blossom into a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants to feel safe and adored.

Benny plays well with other dogs, especially those who are calmer and patient with him. He can be nervous at first, but once he feels comfortable, he happily shares his bed and toys. He has not yet been cat-tested.

With people, Benny may be timid initially, but don’t let that fool you—once he knows you’re a friend, he becomes incredibly loving and seeks out affection and reassurance. He’s truly a sweetheart once his trust is earned.

Benny is still working through some potty-training steps, but he’s doing wonderfully and making steady progress. He doesn’t enjoy being crated for long periods of time, though he does fine for short stretches. New environments and situations can make him a bit unsure, so a patient adopter willing to guide him gently will help him continue to thrive.

Benny is looking for a calm, understanding home that can offer structure, patience, and lots of love. A family willing to help him build confidence at his own pace will be rewarded with a snuggly, loyal, and tender little companion.
