Cedar

Blue Heeler

🐾 Meet Cedar! Age: Approximately 3 years old Breed: Blue Heeler Rescue Status: In rescue since May 2024 Health: Neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm-negative, and microchipped Weight: Around 33 pounds Cedar’s story began when he was discovered abandoned in a cooler by a creek. Despite a likely traumatic past, he’s blossoming into a loyal companion with a lot of love to give.

Cedar plays well with dogs his size or larger (males, females, puppies, seniors), but prefers not to socialize with unaltered males. He flourished in a foster home where he shared space, toys, and affection with another dog. He also passed initial cat tests. He forms deep bonds once he trusts you—he adores kids and melts into cuddles with his favorite humans.

Cedar has a natural nipping instinct (common in the breed) and can be wary in new situations, but he is highly trainable with patience and positive reinforcement. He is toy and treat motivated. He rides calmly in cars, and tolerates vet visits, baths and nail trims like a champ. Cedar would thrive with patient, confident owners who can help him feel safe and loved.
